UPDATE ON EMEKA UGWUONYE IN KUJE PRISON, 22ND DECEMBER 2018.

The DPA Founder is making the best of his stay in Kuje Prison. His presence is not going unnoticed by the warders and the inmate population. Among the warders are some DPA members, though true to the DPA traditions, their membership of DPA has not affected them in the discharge of their duties. They remained true professionals to the core. The prison authorities have had a couple of personal meetings with the Founder during which some important issues were discussed. The officials have been cordial, respectful and professional in their dealings with Emeka Ugwuonye.  It is a fairly diversified prison population. There are two ex-governors in the prison. There are some other high profile people in the prison. Some high profile personalities have recently left while others are coming in. For instance, General Alex Badeh (just assassinated), Fani-Kayode, Olisah Metuh, Sule Lamido, Abba Muro, etc recently were there.

Also, there are hardened criminals, convicted terrorists, Boko Haram fighters and Fulani Herdsmen, kidnappers and armed robbers, etc. All are Kuje Prison. They all form the prison population.

Emeka is settling down well and taking the opportunity to absorb the environment. He has been receiving visitors on daily basis. Otherwise, he keeps himself busy in the prison library. He is also working on organizing competitions for inmates as end-year events, which he hopes will become a yearly events in the prison.

More will be known about these competitions. But he plans to have them on 30th and 31st December.
