THE TRUE STATE OF THE MATTER.

This extant rise of injustices piloted through the Trans-Nigerian police slave cells remains a great Nigerian calamity, where an uncultured police officer exercises use of police powers without any form of judicial control, this significant judicial loophole gives the questionable police force easy access to the lower courts in collaboration with some magistrates in carrying out mischievous and most inhumane acts against a person’s right to freedom and fair hearing, it is a peculiar cause of 70% of all miscarriages of justice and the over population of the prisons. It is above all the cause of the decline of patriotism of the Nigerian hope.

Unfortunately, this serial prevalence of injustices across every sector is a major brain drain to our nation and a major cause of the mass immigration of the Nigerian exodus on all routes, the failures of government institutions in providing adequate law, order, equity, justice and fairness to the common man, this leaves us with nothing albeit religionism as a way out of abject hopelessness.

Yet again, the blatant disregard of respect of a person’s fundamental right remains a true reflection of the values we represent as a people of this nation, it further signifies the degrading value of a Nigerian life as the NPF continues to pervade the lives of the countless voiceless as (guilty until proven guilty by force), it leaves us constantly glaring at the height of reckless impunity right at the gateway of the criminal justice administration. The reality is that these top police officers feed on the proceeds of blood and live exorbitant life styles at the detriment of fellow citizens.

Emeka Ugwuonye’s qualitative analysis is an attestation of a first-hand experience and if we as a nation through our police/judicial officers continue to exhibit a docile attitude of institutional inhumanity through the practice of flawed criminal justice system procedures, which automatically is a self race degradation without a single care as seen in the deplorable state of our prisons and detention gallows, we must not forget that there is no society that is free from crime but a civilised society threats its prisoners with a form of human dignity, however the worst form, is an economically induced police deliberately carrying out a miscarriage of justice, this surely will continue to reflect a disgraceful quality of living a Nigerian life and posits a true picture of our current Nigerian society.

My feelings of pains for women who suffer domestic violence started from when childhood. I had watched my father beat up his wife (my step mother) in pains. As a child, there was nothing I could do to stop the abuse. I love my father but I hated that aspect of his life. I grew up with that hatred for domestic violence. I have watched so many men beat up their wives like children inflicting different degrees of injuries on them. Many of the men who beat up their wives claim to be Christians. My question has always been,”Where in Genesis is it recorded that Adam beat up Eve?” From where do men copy the act of beating their wives?
When I came across DPA on Facebook, after going through what DPA is all about, I was very happy in joining the group without hesitation because I believe that the group will help in reducing domestic violence in our society Nigeria. Domestic violence as I see it, is responsible for our violent society.
I paid to become a full member not because I am suffering from domestic violence or have the premonition of suffering from any human right abuses but for the hatred I have against domestic violence.
It is often said that, when two Elephants fight, the grasses suffer. In the case of domestic violence, it is the children who suffer most.
Thanks to the founder of DPA and all her members. May God continue to give you the grace to fight to defeat the ugly monster called the Domestic Violence.
