EMEKA UGWUONYE VINDICATED
Barr Emeka Ugwuonye is right on his criticism of the Nigerian Police. The Police Abuja command has really messed up the image of the Police in their quest to subdue Emeka Ugwuonye.
Barrister Emeka told you that the Nigeria Police is unprofessional. He wondered how the Police Abuja command could charge him for concealment when the said information they accused him of concealing were obtained from them. Is that not strange?
He wondered how the Police could parade a suspect with a gauze bandage tied round his head. He argued that the confession obtained from the suspect may not be voluntary. He suspected that the Police may have tortured the suspect to obtain the confession.
The Police Abuja command became annoyed, they arrested him and detained him in Abattoir. Ugwuonye refuses to keep quiet. He exposed the rot in Abattoir. He accused the Police of extra judicial killing, unlawful detention and abuse of rights.
The Police Abuja command became more infuriated and decided to frame him up to a murder case he had been working on since 2016 as a human rights lawyer. They’ve taken him to court for more than five times yet he was granted bail in each of the cases. Now they charged him for murder and armed robbery. This is a serious crime. People charged with these crimes rarely secure bail in court.
If they could do these to Barr Emeka Ugwuonye, then what happens to ordinary people in the hands of the Police is better imagined. He has been vindicated. The experience of Nigerians in the hands of the Police justify Ugwuonye’s criticism of the Police. They intend to show him pepper. The more they try to shut him up and intimidate him, the more they vindicate him.
Ugwuonye was arrested on Monday 26th November 2018, he has been detained unlawfully since then. He has been denied access to his lawyers. His health condition has deteriorated, his Doctors were not allowed access to him. His family members were not allowed as well. They keep him in a place where he do not even have space to lie down.
These were all he accused the Abuja Police command in the Abattoir video yet they denied everything but before our very eyes, Emeka Ugwuonye, the Founder of DPA is subjected to the worst inhumane treatment by the Nigerian Police, Abuja command. He is being treated like a common criminal. I make bold to say that Ugwuonye has been vindicated.
